Bryant Scholarship

In 2010 New Hampshire Consistory voted to name the scholarships it awards each year in memory of William E. Bryant.  Bill was Commander-in-Chief of New Hampshire Consistory, a Thirty-third Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a recipient of the Meritorious Service Award, and a tireless supporter of the Scottish Rite charities.
The William E. Bryant Scholarship Program provides financial support for the continuing education of New Hampshire Scottish Rite Masons, their family members, and members of Masonic-related youth groups in New Hampshire.

Eligibility - To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria.  Either be:
  • A New Hampshire Scottish Rite Mason of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction who is in good standing, or
  • A student related to a current or deceased NH Scottish Rite Mason in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, or
  • A member of a youth organization in New Hampshire sponsored by the Masonic Fraternity.
To be considered for a Bryant Scholarship, the applicant must be:
         • A high school senior currently accepted at an accredited trade school who has attained
a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
         • A high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student currently enrolled at an
            accredited college or university.

Applicants will be considered for both the Bryant Scholarship and the Abbott Scholarship.  The application form is meant to be filled out online, then printed and mailed with the required documents.  Complete the application; then print and sign five copies (signatures go on pages 3 and 7). It isn't necessary to include the instruction page (page 1) with the application packet.  Submit all five copies (with all supporting documentation) to the appropriate Valley Secretary.
Applications should be submitted to the Valley providing the applicant's eligibility. For instance, if a grandfather is providing eligibility, submit the application to his Home Valley.  If qualifying by membership in a Masonic Youth Organization, submit forms to the Valley which covers the city or town where they meet. New Hampshire Chapters and Assemblies, with the corresponding Valleys are listed below.

Applications may be completed beginning January 1 and must be received by the appropriate Valley Secretary by April 15.

Abbott Scholarship

Named after Leon M. Abbott, Sovereign Grand Commander from 1921 to 1932, the Abbott Scholarship Program provides financial support for the continuing undergraduate and graduate education of Scottish Rite Masons, family members of Scottish Rite Masons, and members of Masonic Youth Groups including (but not limited to) the Order of DeMolay, Job's Daughters International and The Order of Rainbow for Girls.

Eligibility - Those meeting any of the following criteria are eligible to apply for the 2023 Abbott Scholarship program:
  • A Scottish Rite Mason of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction who is in good standing.
  • A student related (by blood or legal means) to a current or deceased member of the Scottish Rite in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction
  • A member of a Masonically sponsored youth group located within the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction (e.g.: DeMolay International, Job's Daughters, Order of Rainbow for Girls)
To be considered for an Abbott Scholarship, applicants must meet one of the following qualifications (please note that local Valleys may have more strict GPA requirements):
         • A high school senior, currently accepted at an accredited trade school who has attained

a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
         • A high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student currently enrolled at an
            accredited college or university.
All applications should be submitted to the local Valley of the sponsoring Scottish Rite Mason.  For application deadlines, please reach out to the Secretary of said Valley. An online link to the scholarship applications is below.
